On Sunday 5th Feb, 2012, myself and my friend Jodie slid on down to Alexandra Palace to spend our well earned wages. And by slid, I mean it literally! There was snow everywhere and due to the buses not running, we had to make our own way up the hill. The overall atmosphere was incredible despite the cold weather. There was a huge variety of products on offer from the well known MAC, Illamasqua and Paperself, however, there were also a lot of products for the likes of theatrical and prosthetic make-up. This is just a general overview of what I brought and some of the products slightly more up close and personal.

This is a picture of everything I brought, totaling to £109! Which, in a sense, is an absolute bargain.

What is great about these lip stains is that you can mix the colours together. In the last picture, I have mixed the pink and red together and then the pink and blue.

NYX Cream Blush in Rouge 07

Love this colour, you can blend it to the point where it is barely visible but still gives your cheeks a healthy glow of colour. Could also be used as a lip colour!

I link make-up to literally anything I can and today, I made my photography lesson as make-up based as I could. I dragged my friend into becoming my little model and covered her eyebrows in glitter. Using the studio lights and a telezoom lens, I got down to business. My other friend then showed me the finer side of photoshop and with his help, I created this masterpiece! I do hate lying through pictures, e.g editing to the point of no return, but then again every single magazine editorial is edited within an inch of it's life, so what's the harm? All I can say is that I'm a very, very happy bunny.

And everybody's starry eyed!

I was simply playing around with some leftover sequins from Christmas and decided to glue them to a set of false eyelashes I had lying about. I am so pleased with this result! The reflections they give off are excellent. I just need to make them more user friendly and I can see that they could hold an interesting future.

What are your thoughts?!

You know what makes me happy the most? Using my make-up to help other people. There is a girl that my friend knows who is only 15 years old. She has been told that she has a brain tumour and that it is too close to her brain to remove, so she is going to have to have the treatment that results in loosing your hair. On Friday is a ball that she is going to and it is going to be the last time she will have long hair to style and will be able to go out for a while. So, I am surprising her by meeting her at her house to do her hair and make-up and my friend is going to be the photographer so she can truly enjoy her night. If she agrees to it, I will post some pictures after the ball to show you how gorgeous she looks!

So, a quick little update. I've been writing my personal statement for over a week now, London College of Fashion PLEASE LET ME BE YOURS. But it's finally come to some sort of finish. I shall submit it next week with my fingers crossed as tightly as they can be.
On the other hand, my friend Lerato popped over so I could take some pictures to prove that I have work on black models. Unfortunately I am not the greatest photographer, but I will definitely be using her again! I am in love love love with her lips.

A quick update! Unfortunately, I do not have my camera at the moment. However, when I worked on Elizabeth Arden for London Fashion week - the products I ordered from it have now arrived! These are the things I have started using.

Prevage body moisturizer - RRP £90

I'm using this to get rid of the cellulite and stretch marks on my legs. It says to give six weeks until you see a difference, so fingers crossed...

Lash Optimizer - Primer with Conditioners - RRP £15

I am in love with this after only a few uses! You apply, wait 10 seconds then layer up mascara. On my lashes, it acts almost as an eyelash curler. It really makes them more lifted and when I apply my mascara my lashes are individual instead of clumpy. Definite recommend!

INTERVENE 3-IN-1 Daily Cleanser Exfoliator Primer - RRP £18.50

Good all in one skin wash. I use this in the evening and then a toner in the morning. Saves me having to find three separate products, the exfoliating beads are also really small and there are very few of them, so it doesn't feel that my skin is being scraped away.

Pastels galore!

Today I traveled to Rochester University to help out a friend, who is studying fashion promotion, to complete some work that involved a little shoot. The theme was pastels and due to my hair colour, I was dragged into the modelling. I'm not going to lie, I actually really enjoyed it! Balloons, flowers and confetti were also a cheeky addition. I cannot wait to share the final images with you all.

My nails were each painted a different colour and then we added blue, purple and pink extensions to my, already, lilac hair.

I used white mascara and pale eyebrows colours. I then used pale eyeshadows on my cheeks to contour and then used a natural pigment to add some shimmer.

Whilst browsing through the Halloween products in Tesco, I came across some wicked gold eyelashes that resembled tinsel. Unfortunately I had left my purse at home. However, it got me thinking!

So today me and Jazz went roaming around a graveyard in search of taking some awesome pictures. I had a slightly dramatic smokey eye and she was rocking a messy day of the dead/candy skull look. It involved trying to set plastic skeletons alight and trailing through stinging nettles - however, it ended with me half way in a tombstone. It's safe to say I am incredibly excited to see how these pictures turn out.

I have also been booked to face paint at my work, which is a retail shop, on the Saturday before Halloween and I have also been booked to face paint at a pub on the Sunday. I need to get my arse on ebay asap.

With a scary theme on the mind, as well as seeing paranormal activity 3 last night,I'll share with you my joker from a few days ago.

First full length picture of me! (And probably the last...)

So after watching my friend, who was modelling, climbing up trees and dandling over rivers, I had a turn in front of the camera after having to jump over a 6ft fence in heels. But it's all in the job description - right? However, Jazz actually managed to get some 'alright' pictures of me working the strong brows and lips.

Me and Jazz used to be great friends when we were younger then unfortunately we just lost contact. However, we are back and better than ever. We collaborated last week and produced the fabulous pictures above and we're going in for round two tomorrow. Although, due to short noticed I've been dragged into doing both modelling and makeup - which could be an interesting experience to say the least!

Lighting test

A photographer that I am working with next week on a Geisha themed shoot is doing a light test at my friends house, so she has invited me along and said I have full control over the makeup as long as it is dramatic. This is a perfect chance for me to just go crazy and get some interesting shots. Below I've posted a few ideas of what I may attempt - we're looking for the eyes to be striking!

London College of Fashion - Open Day

So I travelled up to Shepard's Bush today for the London College of Fashion makeup course presentations. It was a good eye opener and very useful as I'm unsure whether I want to study fashion or film and tv. The course leaders seem a lot more down to earth than I originally imagined and some of the work they showed on the powerpoints were incredible. I'm slightly scared about applying now as I know I am creative, however, I am not confident when it comes to writing about my experiences in a personal statement.

The bad news - over 500 people apply each year and there are only 25 places...

Tomorrow should be a good day. I am going to the London College of Fashion open day that is purely the "makeup" open day.
